A barber chair is a piece of furniture where a client spends a significant part of their visit – from 30 minutes to even several hours. It is usually located at the central point of the salon, so its design should harmoniously blend with the rest of the space. However, it is worth remembering that it is primarily a stylist's basic tool. A poorly chosen model will quickly lead to back pain and difficult access to the client's head.
The following ranking includes 7 models from the AYALA offer of various sizes and interior styles.
AYALA is a Polish manufacturer of hairdressing furniture operating continuously since 1991, exporting its products to over 60 countries worldwide. The chairs presented in the list are models from our current offer, differing in shape, manufacturing technology, and overall aesthetics.
What to consider when choosing a barber chair?
Before we move on to presenting individual models, it is worth analyzing five key parameters. These determine whether the chair will meet expectations and serve reliably in the salon for many years to come.
-
Pump type - hydraulic pump is currently the standard in barber chairs. It allows for smooth height adjustment of the seat during work with the client, without the need to bend down. The standard in AYALA furniture is a height range of approximately 46 to 59 cm (measured from the floor to the bottom of the seat, depending on the chosen base). It is worth remembering to engage the brake after setting the desired position – this is a simple rule that significantly extends the life of the mechanism.
-
Seat surface - is crucial for client comfort. A wider seat ensures comfort for people with a larger build and minimizes discomfort during multi-hour sessions, e.g., complex colorings. It is worth analyzing this parameter in terms of the profile of your regular clients.
-
Opening in the backrest - a practical detail, especially in models with a deeper, enclosed design. The gap allows for quick cleaning of the chair from cut hair before the next guest arrives.
-
Upholstery - the material must be waterproof and relatively resistant to hairdressing chemicals (dyes, lighteners, hairsprays). In our chairs, we only use synthetic leather. In case of dye stains, a quick reaction and wiping the stain almost 100% guarantees that no trace will remain on the surface. Artificial leather and polyurethane are much easier to clean than natural materials, which immediately absorb liquids and aerosols.
-
Base - for most stylists, the shape and color of the base are the finishing touch to the entire salon's design. In our AYALA 48H offer, you will find many base variants in silver, black, and gold. We offer both light and mobile five-star bases (available on glides or rubber wheels - the highest variant), as well as extremely stable, flagship discs and squares, and our new Cross bases. We hope that everyone will find the perfect match for themselves.

AYALA LEA - a timeless bestseller
LEA is a chair that has been a top seller for AYALA for years - and for good reason. Its universal, simple design does not impose a single style, making the furniture perfectly suited to both minimalist, modern salons and more classic arrangements.
The chair is equipped with a backrest opening, which facilitates cleaning the furniture of hair. Importantly, a hairdressing wash unit from this series is also available, allowing for the creation of a visually consistent workstation. Both the chair and the LEA wash unit are available in the 48H option, which guarantees express shipping from the warehouse within just two business days of placing the order.
AYALA HOLLY - the epitome of glamour style
HOLLY is a model designed with a very specific aesthetic in mind: light, sophisticated, and full of elegance. The line of the armrests is distinctly softer than in other chairs from the offer – the absence of sharp angles makes the chair appear delicate and feminine, successfully creating a unique atmosphere in the interior.
This model is ideal for salons focused on clients seeking an exceptional atmosphere of luxury – salons with an extensive care offer, styling studios, for example, dealing with bridal styling, and other spaces providing premium services.
The comfortable seat and wide armrests with a soft line are two elements that make the HOLLY chair recognizable at first glance. The design is complemented by a practical opening in the backrest, which facilitates daily cleanliness at the workstation.
AYALA GLOBE - expressive design with strong character
GLOBE meets the needs of those who seek expressive and strong design in furniture. This model will work well in both modern, atmospheric interiors and more classic arrangements where designers deliberately opt for distinctive accents instead of neutral forms.
Massive, wide armrests with thicker, decorative stitching communicate comfort and durability – and this communication is fully reflected in reality, as this model truly belongs to the heavier and more stable models in the offer.
The comfortable seat provides full comfort even during multi-hour treatments, and the practical opening in the backrest is a detail that every hairdresser will appreciate after just the first week of working in the salon.
AYALA LOFT - industrial minimalism
LOFT is a chair created for a raw, uncompromising style – devoid of unnecessary ornamentation and focused on pure form. Its distinguishing feature is the black, metal armrests made of powder-coated steel. Replacing classic, upholstered sides with a distinctive frame gives it a factory chic and also increases resistance to scratches and daily wear.
However, this minimalist construction will find its place not only in typical industrial interiors. It will work wherever we want to introduce a touch of rawness, without the need for radical metamorphoses of the entire salon.
If your salon is built around a loft or barbershop aesthetic, LOFT will be one of the few chairs on the market that authentically co-creates – rather than merely tolerates – that space. The chair will create perfect synergy with metal consoles, exposed brick walls, or technical lighting.
AYALA ZOE - comfort first
ZOE is a chair that was designed somewhat differently. The enveloping, organic line of the backrest embraces the body more broadly than in most standard models, and the spacious seat with a large opening in the backrest allows for comfortable service of clients of various builds and sizes.
Comfort during long treatments is crucial for the client. A chair where the seat is too narrow or too shallow makes the client uncomfortable, causing them to change position, which can ultimately negatively affect the overall impression of the visit. ZOE eliminates this problem thanks to its widened seat and ergonomic backrest shape, which perfectly supports the natural curve of the body.
ZOE is an excellent choice for salons that take inclusivity seriously and want every client to feel served as professionally as possible – regardless of body type. An additional advantage of ZOE is its universal, modern design, which will easily fit into any space.
AYALA THOMAS and THOMAS P - comfort in a unique form
THOMAS is a massive chair with an extremely spacious, irregularly shaped seat, which means that despite its size, the furniture does not optically overwhelm the interior. Due to its original line, it will fit perfectly in both modern and classic spaces. It is one of the largest and most luxurious models in the entire AYALA offer.
Its wide and stable construction consists of a steel frame poured into a mold with high-density PUR foam. What does this mean in practice? The seat is completely resistant to deformation. Even after years of intensive work in a busy salon, the chair will not "wear out" and will retain its original resilience.
The unconventional design based on organic curves distinctly differentiates the THOMAS chair from classic, geometric forms. The complete absence of openings and nooks in the chair's structure is a deliberate design decision. This makes cleaning the furniture after treatments much quicker and more thorough – cut hair has nowhere to hide. In a salon serving many clients daily, this is a detail that proves more valuable in daily work than any aesthetic detail.
The chair is available in two versions:
-
THOMAS - with a smoothly upholstered seat, which emphasizes the clean and modern expression of the form.
-
THOMAS P - with elegant, vertical stitching inside the backrest, giving it a characteristic retro flair.
The collection is complemented by a dedicated THOMAS hairdressing wash unit, also available in our AYALA 48H warehouse offer (with shipping in 2 business days), allowing for the creation of a cohesive equipment set.
AYALA ENZO - industrial flair with a warmer touch
ENZO is a chair that subtly combines seemingly contradictory atmospheres: raw, factory-like modernity with the warmth of nature. Its distinguishing feature is the black, powder-coated metal armrest frame. However, this strong, industrial element is broken up by wooden overlays with rounded edges. Wood here provides an extremely pleasant, warming accent that dramatically changes the character of the furniture.
The unique design of ENZO is also highlighted by the two available upholstery versions – deep black and classic brown. Both are made of a material with the texture of aged top-grain leather, which gives the chair nobility and the subtle charm of retro furniture.
Thanks to this unique combination of materials, ENZO is an extremely flexible arrangement model. It will perfectly fit into raw lofts, salons inspired by retro style, and also in the currently ultra-modern Organic Modern spaces – full of wood, earthy colors, and an abundance of live greenery. If you are looking for furniture that will introduce a unique, cozy, yet distinctive atmosphere to your salon, ENZO will be a bullseye.
Visual harmony - which chair will complement your salon's arrangement?
Choosing a barber chair is more than just buying furniture – it's a decision about how your clients will feel at your salon and what they will remember after leaving. The chair is, after all, the central point of the space, the first thing that catches the eye and the last thing that bids the guest farewell.
To help you decide, we have prepared a quick style map. Find your aesthetic and see which AYALA model tells your story best:

Comfort and inclusivity (ZOE) – an excellent solution for places that prioritize the comfort of every guest, regardless of body type.
-

-
Close to nature with a retro touch (ENZO) – a bullseye for Organic Modern interiors. It will perfectly fit into surroundings of natural wood, warm colors, and an abundance of live greenery.

How to care for the upholstery of a hairdressing chair?
All AYALA chairs are upholstered with high-quality synthetic leather. It is highly resistant to the specifics of salon work, but to maintain its impeccable appearance for years, it is worth following a few simple rules:
-
Daily care: Use a soft cloth and warm water with a mild soap or professional products for professional leather upholstery for cleaning. Absolutely avoid strong detergents, corrosive agents, and abrasive powders.
-
Stubborn stains: Persistent stains are best removed with specialized eco-leather care products that are safe for its structure.
-
Reflex counts: In case of splashing the chair with dye or bleach, reaction time is crucial. The quicker you wipe off the product, the greater the certainty that no trace of the stain will remain.
-
Additional protection: If you want to maximally protect your furniture from everyday accidents at work, at AYALA we can sew a transparent, protective foil cover perfectly fitted to each of our models.
Are AYALA chairs available in various upholstery colors?
Yes! All hairdressing chairs from our offer can be fully customized upon order. We offer dozens of upholstery shades and over a dozen different base versions to choose from. You can find a detailed configurator on the AYALA website directly on each model's product page – allowing you to create a chair perfectly suited to your vision.
Which chair base should I choose?
In our AYALA 48H express offer, you will find as many as 14 different base variants. Although hairdressers most often focus on aesthetics and interior style, it is worth remembering that the type of base also affects the height of the entire chair.
You can choose from:
-
Five-star bases – available in 3 versions (black, chrome silver, and aluminum), each with the option of stable feet or smoothly operating rubber casters.
-
Disc and square bases – available in 3 elegant colors: timeless silver, deep black, and luxurious gold.
-
Cross bases – minimalist bases in black or brushed silver.
AYALA tip: Remember that the type of base affects the height of the workstation. If you want the highest possible setting, the best choice will be any of our five-star bases with castors.
How to care for the chair's hydraulic pump and how to use it correctly?
With proper use, the hydraulic pump does not require regular servicing. It is enough to check every few months whether the chair adjusts height smoothly and whether there is any play in the base. However, should any fault occur, AYALA provides full warranty and post-warranty service through its network of authorized points.
To maximize the life of the mechanism and ensure its trouble-free operation, it is crucial to master its operation. Each hydraulic pump has 3 intuitive operating modes, which you control with a single lever:
-
Raising the chair – perform short, smooth downward movements of the lever (remember not to press it all the way down, as this will activate the lowering function).
-
Lowering the chair – press the lever firmly all the way down and hold it until the seat descends to the desired height.
-
Swivel lock and brake (Most Important!) – after positioning the chair, lift the lever all the way up with your foot. This engages the brake, which prevents the chair from swiveling and stabilizes the pressure inside the cylinder. During pumping, the pressure naturally increases, and without engaging the brake, the chair may slightly settle. Using the lock is key to maintaining stability and durability of the pump. To release the brake, simply press the lever lightly with your foot again.
